President Obama Threatens to Veto Law to Repeal Net Neutrality [http://mashable.com/]

The White House has threatened to veto Republican-sponsored legislation that would overturn the net neutrality rules the FCC passed last December.

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on S.J. Resolution 6 [PDF], “Disapproval of Federal Communications Commission Rule Regulating the Internet and Broadband Industry Practices”, sometime on Thursday. The resolution, if it were to pass both houses, would begin a process that could overturn the decision of the FCC. The U.S. House of Representatives rejected the FCC’s net neutrality rules back in April.

As more and more jobs and educational offerings are available online, the ability to navigate the Internet is critical to participate more fully in the economy. Jumpstarted by a federal interagency working group dedicated to spurring the advancement of digital literacy across all age groups and stages of learning, the Digital Literacy portal organizes content conveniently, enables valuable discussion and collaboration among users and elevates best practices to improve the quality of digital literacy offerings. Funding need for 2 new vaccines

Subject: Deadly diarrhea

Hi,

Did you know that one out of three child deaths in the developing world–a total of nearly 3 million each year–is caused by diarrhea or pneumonia? That’s more deaths than malaria, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis combined.

But did you also know that we now have two new vaccines that will help stop these two preventable diseases–we just need to make sure these proven vaccines get the funding they deserve?

I just signed a petition asking President Obama to make sure these two vaccines get to the kids who need them most.
