Reporters at Rupert Murdoch-owned newspapers regularly hacked the
phones of politicians, celebrities, and even hacked the phone of a
13-year-old murder victim. Now it appears they may have hacked the phones
of 9/11 victims. I just signed a petition to make sure Congress finds out
what Murdoch knew and when he knew it–and holds anyone who broke U.S. law
accountable.

News reports say Obama put Social Security cuts on the table for a
debt deal with Republicans. All because Republicans refuse to roll back

During this recession, New York has cut funding for public schools,
health care, and all sorts of programs that help the middle class. Now,
some in Albany want to repeal the Millionaire’s Tax, costing the state
billions and forcing layoffs of 15,000 teachers, snowplow drivers and
other public workers. It’s simply beyond the pale.

Hi,
Corporations aren’t people. We all know that. But in last year’s Citizens
United decision, the Supreme Court gave corporations the same First
Amendment rights as you and me. The result was record breaking spending by
giant corporations to try to buy our elections.
We must take our democracy back. The most direct remedy we have left to
correct the Supreme Court’s awful decision is a constitutional amendment
clarifying that corporations are not people.
